Cal Poly Print and Copy Under the direction of the Senior Director of Business and Finance. The Digital Print Manager will manage the day to day operations of Cal Poly Print and Copy, providing a wide range of digital graphic services for the Cal Poly campus community. The Manager must have the ability to understand and productively use various pieces of technology and equipment, the knowledge to solve technical problems with both the hardware and the software, and to train staff on equipment. Provide daily operational oversight of the Print and Copy staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, timekeeping, assigning work, and general supervision. Oversee production and work flow, scheduling jobs, and troubleshooting issues with digital files, equipment, software, deadlines, and other elements of print production. Manage inventory according to established protocol. Maintain all coin and bill operated Print & Copy equipment and self-service supplies across campus. Provides excellent customer service and resolves complaints.
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 4 years of progressive, responsible experience, preferably in print management. Knowledge of and ability to operate printing equipment including hardware and software for large format printing, binding and laminating. Ability to print from multiple file types Knowledge of inventory control procedures. Ability to perform complex, highly responsible and confidential duties. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and meet time lines. Ability to lead others in managing tasks; train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationship with others. Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to interface with all levels of staff, Board of Directors, university community, including students, faculty and staff, and the public. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance. Possession of a valid California Driver's License and satisfactory driving record. A background check is required for all regular benefited positions. The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSUExecutive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
