Job Summary
The School of Film and Media Arts at Cleveland State University invites applications for the position of Visiting College Lecturer in conjunction with the College of Arts and Science’s India Scholar Program for the spring 2025 semester. Rank is open and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position to begin spring semester, January 6, 2025. Duties: teach one course in area of expertise; present a series of colloquia to faculty, staff, and students and to the community at large on India-related subjects; complete a creative project focused on the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival (https://www.aradhana.org/).
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have earned a Master’s degree or higher in the fine or performing arts with a specific focus on film or media; and
- The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in some aspect of Indian cinema or cultural studies and have a record of production and screening of moving image works, on which the candidate served in a central creative capacity (e.g. director, producer, cinematographer, editor, writer, production designer).
Preferred Qualifications
- A record of successful post-secondary (undergraduate) teaching;
- Previous experience working within a cross-cultural learning environment; and
- Scholarship in Indian cinema and/or culture.
