The #ColumbiaBasinHerald, #Sun Tribune and #BasinBusinessJournal, which serve Grant and Adams counties in Washington's heartland, have an immediate opening for a full-time #GeneralAssignmentReporter at our Moses Lake office.
If offered the job you will hit the ground running by immersing yourself into a position that could require you to report on water/agriculture one day and schools the next. Our general assignment reporter will be tasked mainly with producing copy for our weekly publication, the Sun Tribune, which covers south Grant County and portions of Adams County, as well as our monthly publication, the Basin Business Journal, which reports on agriculture and business in the area.
This position requires a reporter who can produce accurate, engaging and timely copy in AP style on a hard deadline. Prospective applicants should be well versed in social media, photography, be able to adapt to new and emerging technologies in the news industry and be committed to our editorial focus of "hyper-local news."
A BS/BA degree in journalism or equivalent work-related experience is preferred. Located smack dab in the middle of Washington, Moses Lake is an outdoor enthusiast's dream. With the lake itself, Potholes Reservoir just a hop, skip and a jump away and the Moses Lake Sand Dunes just outside of town there is no shortage of recreation opportunities in this growing.
