Marketing & Communications Intern
CommonBond invites qualified applicants to apply for a Communications Intern. The Communications Intern supports CommonBond’s content creation efforts by writing, editing, conducting interview, and providing general support for print and digital channels. Under the direction of the Marketing & Design Manager, the Communications Intern works within the Resource Development Department to help carry out strategic communications efforts. This position will work in our Central Office in St. Paul, MN.

Essential Job Functions and Associated Tasks
- Write, edit, conduct interviews, and proofread for CommonBond resident stories, blogs, social media, and other print and digital communications efforts. Content creation will be the primary focus of the internship.
- Assist with production of collateral materials as needed (fact sheets, collateral for property grand openings and groundbreakings, and materials for special events as needed).
- Assist when needed for special events and projects headed by Resource Development.
- Act as an ambassador for CommonBond Communities, internally and externally.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated success in writing and editing.
- Post-secondary studies in Communications, English, Marketing, or related field.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and details simultaneously.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including excellent grammar and proofreading abilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends when needed.
- Commitment to CommonBond Communities, its mission, vision, values, and residents.
Preferred Requirements
- Experienced, effective writer.
- Knowledge of marketing and communications.
- Knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience creating content for social media platforms.
- Experience working with and on behalf of communities most impacted by racism and other forms of oppression.
