Salary: Up to $96,960 depending on education & experience.
Directs the activities of a large professional and administrative support staff by approving hiring recommendations, providing training opportunities, conducting performance evaluations, and reviewing and approving actions recommended by subordinates. Interprets laws, policies, and procedures to provide advice and assistance to state agencies, institutions, the Governor, the legislature, and the Chief Fiscal Officer of the State on fiscal matters and problem resolutions. Reviews current and proposed legislation to determine the impact on the accounting system and proposes or drafts changes to existing law as needed to improve the accounting system. Attends Legislative Joint Audit Committee meetings to offer advice and clarification on audit findings and agency procedures and follows up to assist with compliance. Participates with the Administrator in establishing goals for the Accounting and Federal Grants Management System (AFGM) by assessing the needs of agencies or institutions for accounting support and developing new or revised programs to meet those needs. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; plus six years of progressively more responsible experience in accounting or fiscal management operations, including three years in a professional managerial capacity.
Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the basic requirements upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee.
