Foothill Oriental Rugs
An heirloom quality Oriental rug embodies a story steeped in ancient art forms, traditions and distant lands... and we’re passionate about that story. Each rug speaks of it’s weaver, region and culture. At Foothill, we love sharing the story of oriental rugs and we value the trust you place in us when purchasing your carpets.
FOOTHILL’S ROOTS
Shortly after graduating from college, Jim Webber embarked on a career selling Oriental rugs. To secure the finest merchandise at the best prices, he decided to travel overseas and buy directly from manufacturers. In 1985, he made his first trip to India and Pakistan with minimal resources. Lacking trade contacts, translators, or even solid information on where to find the products he sought, Jim successfully navigated the Eastern trading markets and established a firm reputation in the industry.
GIVING BACK
In 2002, with the support of other rug importers and private donors, Jim Webber started the Nepal Cleft and Burn Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization, in an effort to give back to the wonderful people of Nepal. It’s mission statement: To deliver quality, deformity-correcting reconstructive surgery to the poorest of the poor of Nepal through a permanent, sustainable healthcare infrastructure.
Compassion for the well-being of our brothers and sisters around the world is the fundamental force in the creation of the NC&BC in Kathmandu, Nepal.
