Job Description
The Lab Coordinator for the School of Mathematics and Sciences is responsible for safety, organization, student/faculty/staff safety training, and supplies management for the natural sciences teaching laboratories. This person also is responsible for coordinating facilities use by graduate students who require the use of the wet labs or the instrumentation of the School of Mathematics and Sciences. The Lab Coordinator monitors and maintains the safe and sustained operation of the schools laboratory instruments/equipment and responds to any alerts or safety concerns as they arise even if they occur outside of the universitys normal operating hours.
Required Qualifications
*Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Physics; *laboratory management experience 
Preferred Qualifications
*Safety training certification; *Experience managing undergraduate students.

train student lab assistants, faculty, and staff in safe and compliant laboratory practices;
Job Duty
maintain records of safety training, incident reporting and resolution, hazardous wastes disposal, and chemical inventory;

coordinate with IS to manage the Research Lab (MANS 422) swipe access list;
Job Duty
archive student lab safety agreements for all lab classes each semester;
Job Duty
initiate lab materials orders;
Job Duty
receive lab materials;
Job Duty
collaborate with faculty in supervising student lab assistants;

organization of common lab materials;

regular testing of ductless fume hood safety;

testing of autoclave function;

maintain safe and sustained operation of instruments/equipment;

monitor and respond to any safety alerts associated with the -80 C freezers;

coordinate the transfer and preservation of research materials in the event of a failure in the -80 C freezers;

respond and coordinate a containment response in the case of an autoclave leak;
Job Duty
collaborate with student lab assistants to maintain cleanliness of labs;
Job Duty
maintaining list of service companies for lab instruments;
Job Duty
perform minor instrument maintenance including microscopes;
Job Duty
operate lab computers and computer interfaced equipment;
Job Duty
coordinate maintenance, cleanliness, and fuel needs for the CMRC vehicles,
Job Duty
assist with special projects;
Job Duty
promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and to the community at large;
Job Duty
promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students;
Job Duty
participate on university committees;
Job Duty
maintain proper security for all University files and information and follow privacy procedures at all times;
Job Duty
maintain records and procedures for duties and responsibilities of position;
Job Duty
complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of University programs, both on campus and at extended campus sites;
Job Duty
perform other duties as assigned.
