Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Receiving and Inventory Control Coordinator DATE: December 2017
STATUS: Full Time, Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for receiving all product coming through the warehouse as well as maintaining an accurate inventory control program. In addition this position works with the Perishable Foods Coordinator on all aspects of distribution.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for coordinating the receipt and storage of all inventory items.
2. Maintaining control procedures that ensure accurate accounting and proper handling of all inventory assets.
3. Store, handle and distribute all products abiding by NEIFB’s Food Safety policies, Feeding America Regulation and AIB food safety guidelines and in accord with all city, state and federal regulations.
4. Perform evaluation of warehouse activities and report these results to the Operations Manager.
5. Responsible for product allocation of all perishable product to programs and agencies based on needs, priorities and capacities
6. Responsible for being the back up to the Perishable Foods Coordinator.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: (Minimum) BA degree in an affiliated field
Experience: Must have skills and experience related to inventory and database systems.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, practices, procedures and standards
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in hot to cold environments, including warehouse, cooler and freezer
- Ability to work independently and with staff to achieve objectives
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Valid Iowa Driver’s License, Forklift experience preferred
- Willingness and ability to learn sanitary food storage and handling guidelines and practices
