City of Stow Full-Time Police Officer Exam. A competitive exam to establish an eligibility list for a full-time Police Officer will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. Detailed information on the examination process is available with the application packet. All documents and a non-refundable application fee of $25.00 are due at time of application submittal. No applications will be accepted after 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Applicants must be 19 years of age on or before February 28, 2020 to take exam and attain the age of 21 to be appointed. No person shall be eligible to receive an original appointment on or after his/her 36th birthday. OPOTC certification is not required at time of application or appointment. Additional credit will be given to applicants receiving a passing score on the written examination, and who qualify for bonus points for police officer experience, college degree, OPOTC certification, and military service with an honorable discharge.
Candidates must meet each of the following requirements prior to becoming eligible for appointment: United States citizenship. Possess a valid Ohio Driver's License with a good driving record. Pass a written examination and physical agility test. Successfully complete a thorough background investigation, polygraph examination, and interview process. Meet medical, physical, psychological, and special requirements. Ability to perform duties as listed in the job description.
