The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for a Software Developer for the Department of Bioinformatics and Genomics. This is a Temporary Employment position, full time.
Purpose of the Position: Successful candidates will analyze, design, develop, and modify our existing software applications and develop new ones using various technologies.
Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Essential Job Duties: Successful candidates will analyze, design, develop, and modify our existing software applications and develop new ones using various technologies such as Python, Flask, Java, JavaFX, Spring Framework, and SQL. You are an ideal candidate if you can demonstrate a love of learning through personal, collegiate, or professional project work, and show a passion for software engineering and an excitement for problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates should have experience with object-oriented languages. Java and Python are preferred. Experience with MySQL or other databases. Experience with full-stack web development. Spring Framework and Python Flask are preferred as well as experience with Amazon Web Services. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Good written and oral communication skills. Ethical and self-motivated. Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) and in-person (Kannapolis, North Carolina).
