Brief Summary of Job Description
Under general direction from the Collection Services Librarian, this position is responsible for the following:
Maintenance of quality assurance of the online catalog;
Maintenance of all of the bibliographic and item records;
Performance of technically diverse functions in the Cataloging unit under direction of Supervisor and Cataloging Associate;
In collaboration with Archives and Special Collections, input of metadata for collections, including as part of digitization projects, under direction of University Archivist and Cataloging Associate.
Job Duties
Copy cataloging of library materials, in all formats, including musical scores and government documents, using online and local databases.
Maintains the online catalog by adding, editing, deleting, and transferring bibliographic, item, and authority records.
Cataloging non-MARC records in coordination with, and standards developed by, University Archivist and Cataloging Associate – includes digitization projects and standards.
Database maintenance, including creating reports and generating statistics for use in collection development projects, under direction of Supervisor.
Ability to compile and clean metadata from MARC and non-MARC sources, under direction of Supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
Schedule Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, 40 hours

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or related experience
A high level of attention to detail.
1 year of experience in a library setting, preferably in an academic library and in cataloging.
A demonstrated ability to work well with others, and to work efficiently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of computer languages and standards such as Python, R, SQL, Excel, and/or GitHub.
Additional library-related experience.
