Position Summary:
A diesel technician will have the duty of performing regular servicing, checkups, and overhauling of multiple types of vehicles. This will include to examine a vehicle, reporting the deficiency and then repairing the deficiency.
Responsibilities
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Read Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) to determine issues and concerns.
Perform preventive maintenance (PM-A, PM-B, and PM-C) on vehicles according to the fleet schedule
Report vehicle defects and damage to the vehicles to the Supervisor
Operating safety working equipment and applying safety practice at work while performing his/her duties
Practice and insist upon workplace safety
Needs to be a team player or have the capability of working on his own.
Good communication abilities are required for clear and better understanding of the problem.
Have the duty to maintain all the stocks available in the workshop and notify a Supervisor that a reorder is necessary
Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.

Physical Requirements
Standing, bending, reaching, use of both arms
Lifting and moving of material less than 50 lbs.

Familiarity with basic shop tools
Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
Valid Connecticut Drivers License
Willingness to work hard and learn the WWP systems of operation
